The Virtues of Ramadan:
Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam, a time of fasting, prayer, and charity. The Prophet (peace be upon him) emphasised the importance of giving charity during Ramadan, and one key obligation is Zakat ul-Fitr (Fitrana).

What is Zakat ul-Fitr?

Zakat ul-Fitr is a compulsory charity given before the Eid prayer to purify the fast and support the needy. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:
“The fast remains suspended between Heaven and Earth until Zakat ul-Fitr is given.” (Hadith – Abu Dawood 1609)

Zakat ul-Fitr Amounts:
– Australia: Approximately $15 AUD per person
– New Zealand: Approximately $16 NZD per person
Every Muslim, including children, must pay this amount before Eid prayer.
