Palestine and the History of Gaza
Palestine holds a rich history, dating back thousands of years, with deep cultural, religious, and historical signifcance. The land of Palestine has been home to various civilizations, including the Canaanites, Romans, Byzantines, and Muslims. It is a land mentioned in the Qur’an and revered by Muslims, Christians, and Jews alike.
Gaza’s History and Struggles:
Gaza, one of the most densely populated areas in the world, has been under siege and blockade for decades. Since the Nakba (Catastrophe) of 1948, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced from their homeland, Gaza has endured numerous wars, attacks, and
economic hardships. Despite these challenges, the resilience of the people remains unshaken. The region has suffered from repeated conficts, particularly in 2008-2009, 2012, 2014, and recent escalations, leading to immense destruction and loss of life.

Water is a fundamental right and a necessity for life. Yet, millions in Africa suffer due to lack of access to clean drinking water, leading to
disease, malnutrition, and hardship.
The Importance of Water in Islam:
Water is considered a divine blessing in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“The best charity is giving water to drink.” (Sunan Ibn Majah 3684)
At GAFP, we are committed to constructing water wells in Africa, ensuring communities have access to clean and safe drinking water. By contributing to this project, you are engaging in Sadaqah Jariyah (ongoing charity) that will beneft generations to come.
